My Wedding

From Concept to Confection: A Handcrafted Love Story

Our wedding was more than a celebration; it was the ultimate collaboration between a designer’s eye and a chef’s heart. With a Senior Designer running the print room and a Pastry Chef at the helm of the kitchen, we had the unique opportunity to handcraft every single touchpoint of our day, ensuring that our “I dos” were as personal as they were professional.

The Art of the Detail

Leveraging my background in design and access to the print room, I took “DIY” to a professional level. Every piece of stationery—from the menus and table seating chart to the custom gift favour boxes—was designed and produced in-house. We wanted our guests to feel the intention in every corner, which led to the creation of:

  • A Custom Fingerprint Tree: A living piece of art where guests left their mark.
  • Whimsical Signage: Funny signboards that kept the atmosphere light and joyful.
  • The Photo Booth: A hand-built booth complete with custom props that reflected our personalities.

A Sweet Signature

While I focused on the visual aesthetic, my husband brought the flavour. It isn’t every day the groom is responsible for the most anticipated part of the menu! He poured his expertise into a stunning wedding cake, but the magic didn’t stop there. He also handcrafted miniature cakes as edible “thank you” gifts, tucked neatly into the custom-printed boxes I had designed.

This journey allowed us to pour our professional passions into our personal milestone. Looking back, the decor, the tags, and the treats weren’t just items on a checklist—they were a testament to how well we work together as a team.
